Renewable Energy and Net Metering

Gulf Power customers who install a renewable energy system (up to 2 MW) at their home or business, may qualify for interconnection to the Gulf Power system. Gulf Power will meter the system and provide credits for any excess electricity through a process called net metering.

Links to the application and agreements, as well as helpful information, are below.

How do I apply for interconnection and net metering?
After your renewable generation is installed AND inspected by the local code official the following process occurs:

  • Complete and forward a Standard Interconnection Application for Customer-Owned Renewable Generation(Application) and required documentation (detailed in application) to Gulf Power at the following address:
    Gulf Power Company
Attn: Mass Market Renewable Analyst, Bin 231
    One Energy Place
    Pensacola, Florida 32520-0231
  • Gulf Power will review your Application and documentation, then Gulf Power will forward the appropriate Standard Interconnection Agreement for Customer-Owned Renewable Generation (Agreement) to you, depending on the size on your installation.
  • Sign and return the Agreement to Gulf Power at the address above.
  • Gulf Power will schedule and conduct an on-site inspection.
  • Upon successful inspection, Gulf Power will install the appropriate net metering equipment.
  • Gulf Power will notify you of authorization to interconnect your renewable energy system to our grid.
