Gulf Power Company and its employees have a strong history of supporting the communities we live in. Each year our employee-driven Gulf Power Transformers, a 501(c) 3 organization, contributes donations and volunteer hours to aid the many charitable and community projects throughout Northwest Florida.

Heartwalk 2011

Gulf Power employees, retirees and family members - even the four-legged members - put their heart into the community participating in the American Heart Association's Start! HeartWalk in Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City.

United Way

United Way

Gulf Power contributes to the various United Way agencies throughout its service area. In 2011 the company and its employees contributed more than $408,000 to United Way. Last year, more than 150 Gulf Power employees also worked to make a difference at the annual United Way "Day of Caring."

Community Caring at Christmas

Communities Caring at Christmas

Each Christmas, Gulf Power employees take part in "Communities Caring at Christmas." This project provides Christmas for low income as well as abused, neglected and abandoned children living in foster care in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. In 2011, employee-driven donations included a truckload of gifts, a donation from employees of over $10,000 and almost 150 new bicycles and helmets bought and assembled by the company's employees.

Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House

In 2011, Gulf Power partnered with the Ronald McDonald House, raising more than $18,000 for families of children with serious illnesses. Jessica Hatsfelt, a Gulf Power employee, also won the "Fundraiser Volunteer of the Year" award from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. Read full article

American Cancer Society

American Cancer Society

Employees throughout Gulf Power's service area participated in several of the American Cancer Society's "Relays for Life" and contributed more than $3,000 to the project in 2011.

Council on Aging

Council on Aging

Gulf Power employees supported Council on Aging in 2011 by raising $14,500 for the organization.

Project SHARE

Provides emergency assistance to our neighbors who need help with energy bills and other energy-related needs. The program assists the elderly, the disabled, the sick and others who are experiencing financial hardship

Foundations and Educational Grants

To further deserving causes in education, Gulf Power Foundation offers educational grants to Educational Foundations in each county. The grants offers a number of benefits aimed at building knowledge and enhancing the quality of life and the economic well-being of our local communities.
